When it comes to selling to auto insurance leads, nothing is more important than making sure they're happy with their policy. And one of the best ways to do that is by helping them avoid high premium increases.
Thus, it may be a good idea to remind them - or tell them if they don't know - that how they perform on the road can have a significant impact on their insurance rates.
A recent survey demonstrated just how much of an impact it can have. According to Insurance.com, policyholders who received multiple tickets over the course of 2010 saw their premiums increase dramatically.
For instance, the study found that after one traffic violation, premiums rose by an average of 18 percent, 34 percent after two traffic tickets and as much as 53 percent for three traffic citations.
The study indicated some tickets brought more significant fee increases compared to others, as
speeding tickets, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving were among the most costly.
Reminding auto insurance customers of these pitfalls benefits both the insurer and the agent, as a happy insurer may lead to more referrals from satisfied customers down the road.
