Determining whether insurance leads are legitimate

Posted on: Friday, May 20, 2011

As any agent can testify, quality insurance leads can sometimes be hard to come by. Business people know this to be true, and as a result, there are companies that specialize in generating insurance leads, offering to sell them to those willing to buy.

ProducersWeb recently reported about what agents can do to determine whether a lead generation company is offering legitimate sales opportunities.

The source says a good sign the lead is a real one is if the leads' contact information is extensive. Lead generation professionals should go to great lengths to make sure all of the potential client's information is accurate, making getting into contact with them as easy as possible.

Another positive indication is a guarantee the lead is being sold exclusively to one agent. ProducersWeb says legitimate lead generation companies will not sell a lead to any other agents for at least 45 days.

Buying leads from businesses is not something every agent or insurance company does, but it's an option to consider because it gives agents more time to focus on the thing that matters most: sales.
