While many insurance agents have logged on to social media websites Facebook, some may be confused as to how to how they can make the website work for them.
ProducersWeb says the best way to do this is by agents increasing their "brand presence" and there are several ways to go about this.
One way is to utilize Facebook's "profile" feature in a more comprehensive fashion. For instance, if agents use their profile to update content, they should make sure they select the "opt-in" feature in the preferences tab, which allows potential insurance leads to subscribe to profiles. This will give consumers the ability to comment on updates that are posted.
"If you are your brand, and you are trying to brand yourself, then you definitely need to take advantage of your personal profile to post content, due to the rise of the subscribe feature," ProducersWeb writes.
Another way to increase brand presence is using Facebook's "fan page" feature. ProducersWeb says because they're highly customizable, agents can expose their brand's message to a broader audience.
After several months, insurance agents should evaluate how the marketing strategy worked and whether Facebook should continue to be used as a mechanism for obtaining insurance leads, the source advises.
