Insurance agents who take advantage of social media now have a new and improved way to reach out to insurance leads.
Though an official press release has not been issued, according to the Facebook Blog, the company has announced some enhancements to its chat and messaging services, allowing users to use video calling.
If users have an auxiliary camera - or if it's built into the computer itself, as is the case with many PCs - they can now log on to Facebook and talk to family, friends and insurance leads face to face.
"For those of us who have been working on this, it's particularly exciting to bring video calling to over 750 million people," wrote Phillip Su, an engineer with Facebook, on the social media website's blog.
Facebook teamed up with the video call and chat company Skype to make the service possible.
According to Reuters, Facebook users were expecting a big announcement, as last week, the company's CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he was planning to "launch something awesome."
By utilizing this new tool, agents may find new and improved ways to appeal to insurance leads.
