A new study will come as good news for insurance agents - they're trusted by their clientele.
Commissioned by The Hanover Insurance Group, the report found that small business owners tend to trust independent insurance agents and commercial insurance carriers more than other financial services firms and professionals.
Michael Keane, president of the The Hanover, said the findings are good news both for agents and consumers.
"In a time of considerable economic uncertainty, small business owners want to know they are working with an agent and a carrier they can count on," said Michael Keane, president of The Hanover. "This study confirms ... that it's critical for companies to establish and maintain trust and confidence of those they serve."
Trust is something business owners value highly, as the survey found 86 percent said trust was "very important" when choosing an insurer.
This survey is a confirmation that even though there's always room for insurance agents to improve, they appear to be doing well in the customer relations department.
