Yet another study has found that social media has proven to be a useful platform for insurance agents and other business professionals to achieve some of their goals.
According to the poll, which was conducted by SourceMedia, more than 50 percent of advisors and other professionals surveyed indicated they rely on social media for their personal use as well as for business purposes.
The survey also took into account which professionals were the most enthusiastic about social media. Registered investment advisors were some of the most ardent users of websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, as well as bank advisors and regional firm advisors. However, despite using social media frequently, most didn't consider themselves to be experts on the topic, the report noted.
The study also detailed why advisors and business professionals generally used social media. The two most common reasons given were for researching purposes and to better publicize their brand so that they could increase their business production.
In previous polls specifically targeting agents, insurance prospecting was labeled as a common reason for social media use.
