As many reports have indicated, agents often turn to Twitter to drive people to their websites and increase their insurance leads. Now, agents will be able to find out just how important social media is to their business generation.
Recently, the website announced that it will soon be unveiling a new tool called Twitter Web Analytics. It will provide web hosts with statistics regarding the amount of traffic that's being generated to their internet address as a result of Twitter.
As The Poynter Institute describes it, before Twitter Web Analytics, website owners couldn't get a truly accurate representation of how many visitors they were receiving because many people use third-party Twitter applications, which can't be counted. Now, the social media site is changing how it handles shared links so these other visitors can be accounted for.
"Today, we're announcing Twitter Web Analytics, a tool that helps website owners understand how much traffic they receive from Twitter and the effectiveness of Twitter integrations on their sites," the website said.
Twitter says the new tool should be available to website hosts "within the next few weeks" after first being given to a pilot group that will assess its effectiveness.
