Text message alerts are an excellent tool when working leads outside of the office. They provide a condensed version of the lead to help you make contact quickly. Even if you're unable to provide a quote, it's still a good idea to introduce yourself to a prospect and setup a future appointment so a consumer won't make a buying decision before receiving all of their options.
Text message alerts is a free service, however your mobile carrier may charge you for those messages according to your service plan. In some cases your provider may need to activate your phone's ability to receive text messages.
To set-up text message alerts, login to your account and select Manage Leads -> View / Edit Lead Profiles. Within the "Delivery Options" section, select the Edit button. At the bottom of the screen you'll see a check box next to "Enable Text Message Alerts." Checking that box will prompt you to enter your mobile phone number and select your carrier.
You can send alerts to multiple numbers at once by selecting the "Add Another Mobile Number" button. Save changes when finished. Now, when a new lead is added to your account you will receive a text message alert in addition to the regular email alert.
Remember, if you have more than one lead profile you'll need to set-up text message alerts for each profile to be notified of all incoming leads. When you receive your alert, make sure you contact the lead ASAP to have the best chance of success!
